Las imágenes respecto a la otredad refieren a una construcción de significados arraigados en su tiempo, respondiendo a una multiplicidad de dimensiones sociales que otorgan diversos sentidos. A esta búsqueda nos convoca Teresa Artieda, para caracterizar las líneas interpretativas que, desde los libros de lectura editados en Argentina durante el período 1885-1940, se han esgrimido sobre la alteridad indígena. Con este propósito, la autora recorre un conjunto de fuentes que ofrecen diversidad de posturas en torno al “descubrimiento”, conquista y evangelización en América, así como de la posterior expansión territorial de la nación en el actual suelo argentino, revelando la complejidad hermenéutica de la representatividad indígena.Downloads
