The following paper brings out new questions about the life of Vasco de Quiroga (1470?-1565), oidor of the Second Audience of México and bishop of Michoacán, before his arrival to the American continent. Through the analysis of unpublished documents, of judicial origin, we seek to provide some new information, relational or geographical, which allow either to question the constructed genealogy of Vasco de Quiroga or to qualify what the researchers asserted about a naturally dark period such as the early years of this character, so known on the other hand thank to his foundation of the pueblos-hospitales for the protection of the Natives in New Spain.
