Abstract

This paper identifies the process of industrialization in the Paraná-BR in the first half of the twentieth century, the formation of a strategy used by employers as visible in the nineteenth century in England and in major urban centers like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to early twentieth century: the creation of peoples of workers. The strategy used by employers to workers was to approach as much as possible, with their 'houses' very close to the industry, housed in a complex that also houses other social spaces such as clubs, soccer fields, stores and church. This domain also ensure production, also contributed to some regulation of working life, where the role of surveillance became indispensable. To better understand this process, this paper, first, try to problematize the process of industrialization in England, highlighting the creation of similar strategies in that nation. In sequence, discussed-is the process of industrialization in the major urban centers in Brazil and, finally, in the state of Paraná-BR, where we investigate laborer practices and social spaces of the town workers Fernandes Pinheiro; village forest farm workers, resulting from such industrialization during the years 1920-1948.
