Abstract

The 2008 conflict between the national government and different sectors of rural production is the latest in a series of clashes that can be traced to the decade of 1940. Since its inception the Peronist opposition had among its different sectors of rural society, stressing the Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA). The rule deepened this opposition was the Estatuto del Peón, which regulated the work of permanent rural workers. In this paper we analyze and compare two publications were as antagonistic: Hechos e Ideas magazine (HEI), which between 1947 and 1955 had a political position close to the ruling; and the Anales de la Sociedad Rural Argentina, which was from the beginning the defense of cattle interests. In short, try to understand how the new standard were both publications, and therefore, the model of rural society that both supported.
