Abstract

Upon recognition of the major contributions of Gaston Doucet, this study proposes a new reading of the Visit to Governorate of Tucuman´s encomiendas made by the judge of the Audiencia of Charcas Antonio Martinez Lujan de Vargas, focusing in Cordoba in order to reconstruct the state of the the rights to the indigenous community lands and then provide an analysis on the implementation of Lujan de Vargas judgments who gave and created new land rights to the people of Indians villages.
