Abstract

In the first decades of the XX century some actors and social groups perceived the necessity of building complementary, and in some cases, alternative spaces to the stated format school which was developing at that time. Among the spaces thought to transmit and to impose certain topics, the children's break was point out. Beyond the strong ideological and political disputes taken part in the first decades of the XX century in Argentina, there was a strong consent about the necessity of having recreational spaces for children. However, the purposes, senses and meanings in circulation started to collision depending on the social group of origin, the professed ideology and the way of conceiving 'the political thing'. Socialists, anarchists and groups of different religious congregations (for example, salessian's people) implemented children's break spaces in Argentina. A series of senses and meanings on different topics (the 'sexual issue' among them) were in circulation in these sociability spaces. The following article investigates the meanings that took place, transmitted and circulated in relation to the sexual difference, femininity and masculinity.
