Abstract

Produced in a context where “keep distance” became a global mantra due to the pandemic unleashed by the COVID-19 virus, as its authors point out in the introduction, “Distances in the government of the Iberian empires. Conceptions, experiences and links" is a collective work developed during a traveling seminar that in 2019 involved academics from Casa Velázquez in Madrid, Université de Toulouse-Jean Jaurès in France, Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Universidade de Sâo Paulo, seeking to make a history of the Iberian empires from a distance.
