Abstract

Between 1782 and 1786 the Hispanic monarchy
implanted the intendancies in the viceroyalties of the Río de la
Plata and New Spain, as well as in the general captaincy of Chile.
e works gathered here seek to answer the question about the
way in which these intendancies in America functioned, departing
from the knowledge of their sub-delegations. It focuses on various
issues related to the implementation of sub-delegations in a broad,
diverse and complex American space, offering an analytical look
at a micro scale that allows us to understand the effective and
daily exercise of power. In this way, it enriches and complicates
the interpretations that historians built on the period of Bourbon
reformism.
