Abstract

This paper explores the experience of Estanislao
Zeballos throughout the first forty years of his life (1854-1894).
rough this, it inquires in the place political action had in
the we of political representation. This study will also enable
the comprehension the complex process of the prefiguration
of a candidate, as a result of specific cursus honorum deployed
within the elites. These processes transformed certain actors into
paradigmatic figures of the social networks of the elites, and
therefore into natural candidates to access legislative and executive
office.
