Abstract

This paper analyses the complex process of construction
of the mechanisms of political representation that functioned
since the 1853 Constitution in Argentina. With this aim, it
considers the instruments created in it for the voter to delegate
his portion of sovereignty as well as those that established the
qualifications required for voters. It also revises the strategies
developed by different social actors to integrate into the political
community. These reflections will also enable new comparative
analysis with other Latin American and European realities.
