Abstract

The links between both cultural and political field in Latin American history have occupied a prominent place as an object of social sciences in the last decades.Specifically, intersections between art and politics, began to be observed by appealing to new sources and theoretical approaches. In this framework, this dossier presents a group of articles that give into account the complexity and diversity of the relationship between politics and artistic practices, through the study of theater, folk songs, cinema and visual arts. All of this are placed in different socio-political contexts that span almost the entire 20th century and offer a continental approach.
