Abstract

The gender distribution of caring and household’s reproduction correlates directly with the employment structure: the feminization of caring in the domestic sphere implies a low participation in the labor market; this sequence is inverse for male population. Considering this initial hypothesis, this work focuses on two main axes: first, it gathers the academic backgrounds and theories around the study of caring, the main items approached by feminist economy and it reflects on the challenges implied on doing research on such complex dynamics; the second axis systematizes and analyzes data from different National Surveys throughout three scales, focusing specifically in the metropolitan region of Great Jujuy (province of Jujuy) to consider the most evident conditionings, inequalities and debts around well-being and caring.
