This book, the result of more than a decade of research, seeks to fill a historiographical gap through a comprehensive analysis of the Popular Front strategy adopted by the Argentine Communist Party (hereafter, PC). Based on class conciliation with “progressive” sectors of the bourgeoisie with the aim of combating fascism and reaction, this orientation profoundly shaped national political debates during the period under study. This policy, which emerged after the PC's Third National Conference in 1935 and aligned with the directives of the Seventh Congress of the Communist International, prompted a remarkable transformation in the structure and identity of Argentine communism and, as the book's central theme, constitutes an interpretive key that transcends the organization itself.
