Avances del CESOR (English)

Form and preparation of manuscripts

General remarks

Manuscripts must be original and unpublished contributions and may be written in Spanish, Portuguese or English. They should be prepared with a word processor like Word. The font to be used is Times New Roman, size 12. Manuscript text should be double-spaced.

Please do not include authors' names in the manuscript or any data or institutional affiliation, or information in the text that allows to identify them.

Personal and professional information (Author/s name/s, address, phone numbers, University, institutional affiliation) should be sent in a separate sheet.

Characteristics and data to be contained in articles 
Articles should  not exceed 10.000 words (including abstracts, footnotes, charts, diagrams, illustrations and bibliography).
On the first page, should be provided abstracts of no more than 200 keywords and a list of no more than five keywords. The abstract, key words and title should be presented in English and in Spanish.

Footnotes (Style) 
Footnotes must be at the end of page, in Times New Roman font, type size 10 and single-spaced. They must be numbered correlatively throughout the work using automatic formating.

There will be no footnotes with full bibliographic citation. Only authors and years are mentioned. E.g.

On this subject, see Drummond (1987);  Revill (1989).

Reference the Bibliography taking into account the APA (American Psychological Association):

Direct Quotations

If the quotation is fewer than 40 words, they should be stated between quotation marks and without italics, specifying the source in APA (American Psychological Association) Style (author, year, page number if necessary).

Quotations longer than 40 words should be located in a block quotation without quotation marks or italics, specifying the source in APA (American Psychological Association) Style (author, year, page number if necessary). Use square brackets to include explanations or make your our additions to the citation.

Some examples are provided below as to the way to make text citations:

According to Frank Lewis and Mary MacKinnon (1987) “historians have advanced several hypotheses to explain the collapse of the Canadian Northern Railway" (p. 177).

Lucy Taksa (2008) wrote:

Paraphrases

Example:

Frank Lewis and Mary MacKinnon (1987) state that historians have proposed a variety of hipótesis in order to explain the collapse of Canadian Northern Railway (p. 177).

 Sources

For published sources, the citation system specified previously will be used. For instance:

In the case of unpublished sources, they will be identified as clearly as possible in footnotes, stating the archive where they can be found, as well as its geographical location. For example:

If sources are mentioned repeatedly along the text, the author should use acronyms. For instance:

Papers and journals 

Names of papers and journals should always be quoted with italics:

Bibliographic References
The Bibliography must be placed at the end, written in Times New Roman font, type size 12, double-spaced. It must be presented in alphabetic and chronological order (from oldest to most recent).

Specific rules for Book Reviews

Book reviews should be not exceed 1600 words in length including footnotes. The books reviewed must be recent works.

The title of the book that is reviewed should be cited as follows:
