Ambassadors. For many centuries, States did not offer this function to women. The innovative book by Paula Bruno, Alexandra Pita and Marina Alvarado advances on this topic and opens methodological paths and new questions. By looking at the perspective of Latin American women and diplomatic life between 1860 and 1960, the researchers draw an interesting panorama of Latin American societies and States in the times immediately prior to the rise of the first women to the highest position of service abroad
