The recent book by Laura Caruso and Gustavo Contreras is certainly an atypical product within the field of the history of workers and their organizations in Argentina. Born of an institutional agreement between the Center for Overseas Captains and Merchant Marine Officers (CCUOMM) and the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET), it is a commemorative and historical work, which, throughout 160 pages long, with short texts, numerous images and a careful design, it narrates the centennial of this union to the beat of the vicissitudes of the maritime branch, the Argentine labor movement and national history.
